Contributing

Thanks for your interest in ntprof. Bug reports, results from new kernels and NICs, and pull requests are welcome on GitHub.

When you report a problem, include:

  • the output of sudo ntprof probe -r both -t <tcp|rdma> on each machine;
  • the kernel (uname -r) and where the NVMe-oF modules come from (the distribution or MLNX OFED);
  • the commands you ran and what ntprof printed.

The unit tests run without root or BPF: make test. The repository's docs/design.md documents every hook and the stage model; tests/demo.sh and tests/loopback.sh set up test beds on one machine without an SSD or a NIC.
